Denim Importer Settles Fight Over NAFTA Duty Treatment

Law360, New York (May 23, 2012, 5:51 PM EDT) -- The federal government and Tip Top Pant Inc. settled a dispute Wednesday in the U.S. Court of International Trade over the denim wear importer's claims for preferential tariff treatment under the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Under the terms of the deal, Tip Top has agreed to pay $55,550, which represents the full amount of penalties sought by the U.S. in its complaint.
