EU Takes Argentina To WTO Over Trade Restrictions

Law360, New York (May 25, 2012, 2:09 PM EDT) -- The European Union on Friday hit Argentina with a formal challenge in the World Trade Organization over allegedly restrictive trade practices, the latest accusation of protectionism hurled at the South American country.

The EU said Argentina had been forcing importers to preregister and preapprove all imports, as well as demanding that companies seek import licenses to ship many products into the country.
