Abbott Warns Of Faulty Glucose Monitors

Law360, New York (September 10, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Abbott Laboratories Inc. has issued a worldwide correction regarding five blood glucose meters, advising users that the screens of models manufactured after Jan. 31, 2007, may malfunction if the meter is dropped on a hard surface.

On Aug. 31, Abbott Diabetes Care released its “urgent” announcement of the correction of its Precision Xtra, Optium, ReliOn Ultima, Rite Aid and Kroger blood glucose meters, telling users to stop using their models if the display appears faulty.
