Colfax Takes Control Of $235M Peruvian Welding Supplier

Law360, New York (May 29, 2012, 4:48 PM EDT) -- Maryland-based pump maker Colfax Corp. raised its profile in South America with the purchase of a 91 percent stake in Peru's Soldex SA, in a deal that values the welding product supplier at $235 million, according to a Tuesday announcement.

Soldex, which is owned by Inversiones Breca SA — an investment arm of Peru's Brescia Group — and its affiliates, is one of the top welding suppliers servicing South America's Pacific coast, where demand is mushrooming, according to a statement Colfax issued Tuesday.
