Physicians Asks CMS To Delay Dual Eligible Savings Plan

Law360, New York (May 29, 2012, 5:10 PM EDT) -- The Alliance of Specialty Medicine on Thursday asked the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to delay an initiative meant to eliminate duplicative costs for people who are eligible for both programs, saying it could interfere with their access to proper care.

CMS selected 15 states last year to design new programs meant to serve so-called dual eligibles. Each state received up to $1 million to structure a plan that would bring about better coordination between the two programs, which is being funded by the Affordable...
