Another USPTO Step To Combat Fraud

Law360, New York (June 7, 2012, 12:55 PM EDT) -- On July 12, 2011, the United States Patent and Trademark Office circulated for commentary proposed rules to the Trademark Rules of Practice titled “Changes in Requirements for Specimens and For Affidavits or Declarations of Continued Use or Excusable Nonuse in Trademark Cases." The proposed rules would allow for examining attorneys at the USPTO to request additional specimens when reviewing affidavits submitted pursuant Sections 8, 9 or 71.
