Nomura Pays $266M For Olympus' Minority Stake In UBIC

Law360, New York (May 30, 2012, 7:46 PM EDT) -- Olympus Corp. has sold its entire stake in law firm technology provider UBIC Inc. to financial company Nomura Securities Co. Ltd. for $266 million, as the Japanese camera manufacturer struggles to recover from a $1.7 billion fraud scandal, Olympus said Wednesday.

In a filing with Japanese regulators, Olympus said it had sold its 9.47 percent stake in UBIC, a technology and software maker that supplies law firms, to Nomura in an attempt to raise capital.
