NC Lawmakers Propose Ban On BPA In Children's Toys

Law360, New York (May 30, 2012, 7:30 PM EDT) -- State legislators in North Carolina introduced a bill Tuesday that would prohibit the manufacture and sale of children's products containing bisphenol A, even though months earlier federal regulators opted not to ban the controversial compound in food packaging.

The Toxic-Free Kids Act, co-sponsored by a bipartisan quartet of lawmakers, would also ban phthalates and the chemicals known as TRIS in children's products.
