Plaintiffs Ask To Swap Representative In Car Case

Law360, New York (September 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The plaintiffs in the multidistrict litigation alleging that large automakers conspired to block cheaper Canadian cars from reaching the U.S. market have asked to substitute the representative of the Arizona class and the nationwide injunctive class.

In a motion filed Sept. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine, the plaintiffs asked to drop John M. Matter as the named plaintiff because he told counsel that for “personal reasons” he no longer wants to fill the role.
