Kazakhstan Settles Financing Rows Over Kashagan Oil Site

Law360, New York (June 4, 2012, 7:24 PM EDT) -- Kazakhstan has ironed out disputes with foreign developers over the multibillion-dollar Kashagan oil development in the North Caspian that could reap as much as 5 billion tons of fossil fuels, a law firm for the Kazakhstan government said Monday.

Curtis Mallet-Prevost Colt & Mosle LLP, which has been advising Kazakhstan in negotiations with the foreign oil companies, said the agreement ends dispute resolution proceedings over the development of the Kashagan field, potentially the largest oil discovery in the world since the 1970s.
