Alabama Jury Awards $20M In Damages In Software Trade-Secrets Suit

Law360 (May 19, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A jury in Jefferson County Circuit Court has ruled that an Arizona software company stole an Alabama rival’s trade secrets and ordered the Arizona company to pay the Alabama company $19.5 million in damages.

The jury found that the Transaction Bridge software sold by Arizona’s Systrends was developed using trade secrets of Alabama’s Group 8760 and that aspects of Transaction Bridge are the intellectual property of Group 8760, Group 8760 said in a statement.
