Pa. Gov. Seeks $67M Annual Tax Credit For Shell Refinery

Law360, New York (June 4, 2012, 8:11 PM EDT) -- Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett will seek a roughly $67 million annual tax credit for Shell Oil Co. in an attempt to reel in the oil giant, which is eyeing the state for a refinery, including an ethane cracking facility, an aide to a Pennsylvania state senator confirmed Monday.

The move comes after Shell’s March announcement of its plans to assess a site in Beaver County, Pa., for the petrochemical refinery. Corbett plans to seek annual Shell tax breaks for a period of roughly 25 years, according...
