Exxon Pondering LNG Exports, CEO Says

Law360, New York (June 5, 2012, 4:51 PM EDT) -- Exxon Mobil Corp., the biggest U.S. producer of natural gas, is considering exporting the commodity to take advantage of growing foreign demand and offset record-low prices at home, CEO Rex Tillerson said Tuesday.

Speaking at an energy conference in Malaysia, the third-biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas, Tillerson confirmed he was studying the feasibility of sending some of Exxon's growing shale gas production abroad, where prices are three to four times higher.
