Public Transit Co. MTR Lands $10B Hong Kong Rail Deal

Law360, Chicago (June 6, 2012, 9:43 PM EDT) -- Public transit operator MTR Corp. Ltd. has inked a deal with the Hong Kong government to construct a north-south rail link that will cost roughly HK$79.8 billion ($10.3 billion) to build, MTR adviser Slaughter and May recently announced.

In a May 31 statement, Slaughter said it had counseled MTR in connection with the company's entrustment agreement with the government for the construction and commissioning of the new Shatin to Central Link, an undertaking the London-based law firm heralded as one of the most significant infrastructure projects...
