Perkins Coie Says Ex-Atty's Pay Claims Should Be Arbitrated

Law360, New York (June 7, 2012, 12:28 PM EDT) -- Perkins Coie LLP urged a California federal court Wednesday to toss a proposed class action claiming the firm illegally deducted thousands of dollars from attorneys' paychecks, saying the claims fell within the scope of an arbitration provision in the firm's partnership agreement.

The firm and its California unit Perkins Coie California PC moved to dismiss the suit on Wednesday, arguing that lead plaintiff Harold DeGraff signed a partnership agreement that included a mandatory arbitration provision for all claims arising from the partnership.
