Pa. AG Puts Conditions On Geisinger Health System Tie-Up

Law360, New York (June 8, 2012, 8:02 PM EDT) -- Geisinger Health System Foundation on Thursday reached a deal with Pennsylvania's attorney general allowing the health care company to acquire a rival, alleviating the commonwealth's antitrust concerns by agreeing to maintain the independence of the competitor's acute care center for eight years.

The settlement motion was filed in Pennsylvania federal court alongside a complaint from the commonwealth's attorney general, who accused GHSF of obtaining too large a share of the market on acute care services in and around Columbia County as a result of its acquisition...
