DOJ To Push For Stiff Sentences In AUO Cartel Case

Law360, Chicago (June 7, 2012, 8:38 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice's top criminal antitrust enforcer vowed Thursday to seek steep penalties against AU Optronics Corp., its U.S. subsidiary and two executives convicted of price-fixing, describing the company's role in the $500 million cartel and its refusal to accept responsibility as "very egregious conduct."

While the government has yet to prepare its sentencing recommendation for the AUO defendants for the September sentencing hearing, it "will be seeking a very heavy sentence" for the the final defendants in the liquid crystal display panel cartel...
