Calif. Court Agency Trims Staff By 29

Law360, San Diego (June 8, 2012, 8:37 PM EDT) -- The agency overseeing the California courts revealed Thursday that it was laying off 29 employees and that more cuts were on the way, just weeks after a report called on the agency to shrink its staff and make other reforms.

Jody Patel, interim director of the Administrative Office of the Courts, said that the latest layoffs brought the total number of positions that would be eliminated by the end of June to 190 and that additional work force reductions were coming in order to manage budget...
