St. Vincent's Must Face Race Bias Claims: Judge

Law360, New York (September 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has denied a bid by St. Vincent's Health Systems to toss a race discrimination claim brought by a former employee who is claiming $5 million in lost wages, giving the plaintiff one month to amend his complaint.

In an order handed down Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Judge Timothy J. Corrigan denied without prejudice St. Vincent’s amended motion to dismiss plaintiff Douglas C. Jones’ complaint for lack of subject jurisdiction and failure to effect timely service....
