Company Didn't Have To Sound Layoff Alarm: Court

Law360, New York (September 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appeals court has upheld a lower court ruling that said a group of workers was not covered by a federal law regarding employer notification of an impending mass layoff.

In a decision on Sept. 10, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said the workers had not demonstrated that laid-off employees worked at a single site of employment as is required for the law to apply.
