AGL Wins $130M Australian Grant For $450M Solar Project

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 7:54 PM EDT) -- An AU$450 million (US$447 million) solar project from renewable energy outfit AGL Energy Ltd. has beat out three competing proposals to claim nearly AU$130 million under the country's solar power grant program, the company and government said Saturday.

AGL and solar module manufacturer First Solar (Australia) Pty. Ltd. will use the government dollars to build 159 megawatts worth of generating capacity, spread over two locations in the Australian state of New South Wales, AGL and the Australian Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism said in parallel...
