FERC Approves $400M Gas Pipeline Expansion In NJ, Pa.

Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Citing a public need and minimal environmental impacts, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has granted Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. approval for a $400 million natural gas pipeline expansion that includes the installation of 40 miles of new pipe between Asylum, Pa., and Mahwah, N.J.

When it issued its May 29 certificate of approval, FERC deemed the energy giant's Northeast Upgrade Project a necessity that would have "minimal adverse effects on landowners or communities along the route."
