PalmOne Pays $30M For Palm Brand

Law360, New York (May 24, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Handheld computer maker palmOne Inc. has agreed to pay $30 million to PalmSource Inc., the operating system licensing business it spun off in 2003, to reclaim trademark rights to the Palm brand name.

As part of the deal, PalmOne intends to revert to the Palm Inc. name, while PalmSource will likely eventually change its name, sources said.
