Biotronik Tangles With St. Jude Over Sales Rep Noncompete

Law360, New York (June 14, 2012, 5:01 PM EDT) -- Biotronik Inc. is seeking a ruling that a medical sales representative it nabbed from rival pacemaker company St. Jude Medical S.C. Inc. isn't violating a noncompete agreement, according to a lawsuit removed to federal court Wednesday.

The dispute stems from Biotronik's hiring of Michael Jue, who had been selling pacemakers and defibrillators for St. Jude in New York. As part of a standing informal arrangement between the companies, Biotronik notified St. Jude of the hire in May and asked it to confirm a list of doctors...
