Fed. Circ. Won't Stomach Low-Cal Dough Patent

Law360, New York (June 14, 2012, 6:38 PM EDT) -- A Maryland company cannot patent a new type of dough based on claims that the product can be used to make “low-calorie, palatable foods," the Federal Circuit ruled Wednesday, upholding a decision by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.
