Nautilus Loses Patent Suit Over Exercise Gear Again

Law360 (May 30, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Washington federal court has dismissed a patent infringement lawsuit brought by fitness equipment maker Nautilus Group Inc. against rival Icon Health and Fitness.

U.S. District Court Judge Ricardo Martinez in the Eastern District of Washington ruled last week that Icon didn't infringe two Nautilus patents for exercise machines that use cables and flexible rods.

In his ruling, Martinez told both sides to submit a report within 10 days to determine whether any issues remain in the case or if it should be dismissed.
