Brazil's OSX Nails Down $1B Backing For Massive Shipyard

Law360, New York (June 15, 2012, 3:20 PM EDT) -- OSX Brasil SA, the shipbuilding arm of Brazilian conglomerate EBX Group, notched 2.7 billion reals ($1.3 billion) in financing for its Acu project, which will be the largest shipyard in the Americas, according to a Friday filing with Brazil's securities regulator.

The Acu site, a fifth-generation shipyard situated in the northern part of the Rio de Janeiro state, has been under construction since July and is scheduled to go operational in the first part of 2013. The project already has 16 back orders for offshore oil...
