Judge Declares Mistrial In LeapFrog's Patent Suit Vs. Mattel

Law360 (May 30, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Delaware has declared a mistrial in LeapFrog Enterprises Inc.'s lawsuit against Mattel Inc.'s Fisher-Price unit over a patent for interactive books that help children learn to read.

U.S. District Judge Gregory M. Sleet of the District of Delaware issued the ruling after jurors reported that they were deadlocked.

The eight jurors were in their third day of deliberations when they notified the judge that they were at an impasse.
