Medicaid Patients Can't Sue Over Bill Disputes, 11th Circ. Says

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 6:31 PM EDT) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Friday did away with claims from patients in Florida who accused a hospital system of unlawfully billing them after receiving payment from Medicaid, saying individuals have no right to litigate over such disputes.

The case targeted the Broward County-owned South Broward Hospital District, also known as Memorial Healthcare System, which describes itself as the fifth-largest public health system in the nation.
