SCA Offers Antitrust Fixes For $1.7B Georgia-Pacific Buy

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 2:34 PM EDT) -- Swedish hygiene and paper company Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget on Friday offered concessions to Europe's competition authority in response to an antitrust review of the company's proposed €1.32 billion ($1.7 billion) purchase of a Georgia-Pacific LLC unit.

The European Commission confirmed in a notice that SCA has proposed commitments that would extend the regulator's review of the deal — under which the company would acquire Georgia-Pacific's European tissue business — until July 6.
