Mexico Gains Membership In Trans-Pacific Trade Talks

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 2:43 PM EDT) -- The U.S. on Monday greeted Mexico as the newest participant in the Trans-Pacific Partnership talks, following the country's request that it be allowed to engage in the ongoing free trade negotiations.

U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk welcomed Mexico to the TPP group — which now consists of 10 members, including the U.S. — saying that the nation's addition would allow it to participate as the partnership works to bolster trade in the Asia-Pacific region.
