Gasco Gets Interior OK To Drill 1,300 Wells In Utah

Law360, New York (June 18, 2012, 8:04 PM EDT) -- The Bureau of Land Management on Monday approved Gasco Energy Inc.'s plan to drill nearly 1,300 natural gas wells on federal land in Utah, bowing to some conservation groups' calls for environmental protections not included in the original proposal.

The BLM inked a record of decision allowing Gasco to develop more than 200,000 acres of forest in the Uinta Basin, after agreeing to reduce the total acreage and number of wells the company sought to develop.
