Ex-Ala. Gov. Returning To Prison For 6 1/2 Years

Law360, New York (August 3, 2012, 5:18 PM EDT) -- Former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman was sent back to prison Friday, this time for 6 1/2 years, for accepting campaign donations from onetime HealthSouth Corp. CEO Richard Scrushy in exchange for giving the executive a seat on a state regulatory board.

The former governor, a Democrat, had been sentenced to more than seven years in prison after he was convicted in 2006 of bribery involving federal funds and five counts of honest services fraud and conspiracy. But after nine months of incarceration, Siegelman was released pending...
