GOP Sens. Blast Health Grant Program After GAO Reports

Law360, New York (June 21, 2012, 11:22 PM EDT) -- Three Republican senators on Thursday demanded that federal health regulators revamp their oversight of a grant program for health care centers serving the poor and uninsured, saying the current state of affairs is “inexcusable.”

The senators were referring to two Government Accountability Office reports released Thursday detailing grant management within the Health Resources and Services Administration, one of which found the agency's oversight of the grantees, including making sure they comply with agency requirements, was sorely lacking.
