Feds Probe Ford Over Alleged SUV Power Steering Problems

Law360, New York (June 22, 2012, 4:55 PM EDT) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into power steering failures in roughly 83,000 Ford Explorers after a wave of consumer complaints over the vehicles' alleged malfunction, the agency revealed Tuesday.

The agency’s Office of Defects Investigations has received 15 complaints alleging the sudden loss of power steering in the 2011 model of the sport utility vehicles, according to the report.
