US Floats New Arctic Drilling Plans As Shell Fight Looms

Law360, New York (June 26, 2012, 8:43 PM EDT) -- Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on Tuesday touted plans to open Arctic waters to new oil and gas leasing, even as he acknowledged his agency could face environmental lawsuits if it approves Royal Dutch Shell PLC’s proposal to drill off Alaska’s coast in the coming weeks.
