AFA Foods Cleared To Sell 2 Meat Plants For $12M

Law360, Wilmington (June 26, 2012, 4:45 PM EDT) -- AFA Foods Inc., the meat processor run into bankruptcy by the consumer backlash over "pink slime" beef filler, won court approval Tuesday to sell two of its five processing plants to separate buyers for a combined $11.7 million.

At a hearing in Delaware, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Mary F. Walrath signed off on the sale of AFA’s Thomasville, Ga., facility to FPL Food LLC for $7.3 million and its Los Angeles plant to Tri West Investments LLC for $4.4 million.
