W.Va. AG Sues 14 Drug Distributors Tied To Painkiller Abuse

Law360, New York (June 26, 2012, 6:28 PM EDT) -- West Virginia's attorney general launched a suit in state court Tuesday seeking to halt illegitimate distribution of prescription pills by 14 out-of-state drug distributors he says are part of the “pill mill” system that is contributing to the state's epidemic of painkiller abuse.

Attorney General Darrell McGraw is seeking an order from the Circuit Court of Boone County enjoining the companies from distributing controlled substances, including oxycodone, to pharmacies for nonmedical purposes.
