Fishermen End Suit Against Cape Wind Project

Law360, New York (June 27, 2012, 4:51 PM EDT) -- A group of Martha's Vineyard fishermen on Tuesday dropped a lawsuit opposing a wind energy project, as part of a settlement with Cape Wind Association LLC that aims to promote the energy undertaking and bolster the local fishing industry.

The plaintiffs — the Martha’s Vineyard/Dukes County Fishermen’s Association and Jonathan Mayhew — and Cape Wind said they would begin working jointly both to support the development of the 130-turbine wind project and to create a permit bank enabling the sale of commercial fishing licenses.
