BP, Others Say FERC Lead Line Policies Hurt Renewables

Law360, New York (June 27, 2012, 9:19 PM EDT) -- Several energy companies and trade groups — including BP PLC and NRG Energy Inc. — on Tuesday urged the Federal Regulatory Commission to ease requirements on power lines that connect generators to the electrical grid, arguing current policies discourage renewable energy development.

In separate comments to the commission, BP, NRG and others said FERC should pare back open access policies they say burden companies that build power lines that tend only to link power plants to the transmission system.
