House Approves FDA Drug User Fee Legislation

Law360, New York (September 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill on Wednesday that would give the Food and Drug Administration more oversight over prescription drugs, including the power to monitor drugs for dangerous side effects and require new warnings on remedies already out on the market.

In a 405 to 7 vote, the House overwhelmingly supported the bill, which had emerged that morning from negotiations with several prominent Senators. The bill will now go to the Senate floor and, if passed, will head towards President George W. Bush...
