SEC Takes A Look At Hedge Funds

Law360, New York (September 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission plans to take a closer look at potential insider trading in the hedge fund industry, SEC Chairman Christopher Cox said this week.

After an SEC meeting on Wednesday, Cox revealed that the commission has sent about 25 letters to compliance officers at hedge funds asking them to detail public companies where the funds' investors, employees, relatives or clients serve as top executives.
