Jury Selection Begins In High-Stakes Battle Over Stent Patents

Law360, New York (June 13, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Jury selection begins Monday in the closely watched patent dispute between Johnson & Johnson and Boston Scientific Corp. over the lucrative $5 billion market for drug-coated heart stents.

The trial, scheduled to begin in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on June 21, will focus on whether Boston Scientific infringed a Johnson & Johnson patent issued in 1988 for a stent. Another trial to set damages would be held in August if Johnson & Johnson wins.
