Groups Sue EPA For Faulty Compliance Standards

Law360, New York (September 21, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A band of environmental advocacy groups has shot off a lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, alleging that the government agency arbitrarily and capriciously approved Oregon's schedule for complying to water quality standards.

The coalition of four advocacy groups on Thursday asked the U.S. District Court of Oregon to enjoin the EPA from greenlighting the schedule Oregon would use to conform with permitting standards under the federal Clean Water Act until the agency reviews how that schedule complies with the Endangered Species Act.
