CFTC Sets Date For Vote On Long-Awaited Swap Definition

Law360, New York (July 3, 2012, 3:16 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission will meet on July 10 to define a swap and several other terms crucial to implementing many of the outstanding provisions in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

On Tuesday, the CFTC said it would vote on a final rule spelling out what constitutes a swap, a security-based swap and a security-based swap agreement.
