DOJ Antitrust Division Won't Challenge Nuclear Alliance

Law360, New York (July 5, 2012, 3:20 PM EDT) -- The antitrust division of the U.S. Department of Justice will not block a collaboration plan between seven nuclear power plant operators who have proposed sharing resources and coordinating operational activities, finding the arrangement will not damage competition, the agency announced Tuesday.

The operators, which include Luminant Generation Co. LLC and Pacific Gas and Electric Co., each run single nuclear stations using pressurized water reactors.
