Lufthansa, Others Ink Settlement On Debit Card Fees

Law360, New York (July 5, 2012, 3:24 PM EDT) -- The U.K.'s consumer protection watchdog said Thursday that Deutsche Lufthansa AG and 11 other airlines had agreed to be more transparent about surcharges imposed on customers who buy tickets online with debit and credit cards.

The airlines will now factor any debit card charges into the advertised price, rather than spring additional fees on customers just before checkout, according to the Office of Fair Trading.
