African Bank Group Targets Corruption With New Rules

Law360, New York (July 6, 2012, 5:02 PM EDT) -- The African Development Bank Group said Thursday that it had approved a set of policies to fight corruption, streamline procurement procedures, leverage the region's information technology sector and help fund transitioning countries in the north.

At a meeting with AfDB President Donald Kaberuka on Thursday, the board of directors approved the new rules, which include the creation of a sanctions office for corruption violations related to development projects and the Multi-donor Trust Fund for Transition for North African countries.
