DOJ Seeks Blue Cross Docs In Mich. Antitrust Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (July 6, 2012, 7:23 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday asked a Michigan federal judge to order Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan to hand over documents in the government’s antitrust suit over most-favored-nation clauses in the health insurer’s contracts with hospitals, saying BCBSM’s objections are meritless.

Attorneys for the DOJ and the Michigan attorney general’s office filed a motion to compel BCBSM to produce communications between the company and nonparties discussing the lawsuit, related suits and government investigations into the MFN clauses, ahead of depositions set to resume...
