Law360, New York (July 6, 2012, 3:29 PM EDT) -- An senior executive at an Australian public hospital has admitted to altering emergency room records in order to shorten reported patient wait times and emergency room stays, an audit released Tuesday by a government watchdog shows.

The executive at Canberra Hospital, which is operated by the Australian Capital Territory government, admitted to doctoring records to show improved performance information for patient emergency department wait times and stays between 2010 and this year.
